More efficient propane appliances mean lower energy costs.
Here are some tips from the Propane Education and Research Council to improve your energy efficiency and save you money.
Consider Energy Star Appliances
If it’s time to replace an appliance, choose an Energy Star certified model. They use far less energy than standard appliances. Get more information on the Energy Star program and search for appliances here.
Turn Down the Temperature
We don’t blame you for not giving up relaxing bubble baths. But there are places you can easily make the sacrifice. Try turning your water heater down to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. You probably won’t notice the difference in your water temperature. But you will notice the energy savings.
Do Some Maintenance
Or, rather, have a professional do it. Annual maintenance on your furnace can help keep it running efficiently and save you cash. You can also install a programmable thermostat in your home to save on heating costs.
Get the Lint Out
Those lint sheets that built up in your dryer’s traps aren’t just gross. They can be a fire hazard and a money sucker. So regularly clean your lint trap to keep airflow open and your dryer running safely and efficiently.
